Yesterday we officially started the International Learning Design Challenge.
At 13:00 UCT/GMT Diana Laurillard introduced the Challenge and the Learning Designer to the Challenge participants from all over the world. We used Google Hangouts on Air for the first time and after much testing of broadcasting live “the broadcasting technology” became a bit weary and needed some encouragement to participate in our challenge!!
But when we went live, everything worked really well. The audience was great and we were receiving questions and comments both via Twitter (#LDChallenge) and email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
At the same time, many participants were already submitting their own design challenges via Padlet. It was great to see ‘sticky notes’ popping up on the Padlet! It gave us a great feeling of a real many-to-many communication, not just broadcasting. A big thank-you to everyone!
